Women Make Music Fund

Grants up to £5,000 for women creators involved in making music of all genres and backgrounds. With this fund they want to raise awareness of the gender gap and to break down stereotypes within the industry.

Funding Criteria 
  • Supports projects by women songwriters, composers, artists, bands, and performers who are writing their own music.

  • The fund supports new music projects that are of high quality, with reachable musical outcomes and start and end date.

  • The proposed project must take place within 1 year of receiving the grant.

  • There are two stages of applications:

1. Present 2 musical examples and a brief description of you project and how it fits with the fund’s funding priorities.

2. Elaborate on how your project fits with the funding priorities with a focus on how your project is developing long-term plans, audiences, and the music creators.

  • Recording

  • Promotions and marketing

  • Music creator residencies

  • Exciting community projects involving high quality music creators

  • Live performances featuring new UK music

Little Boots

The grant supported the recording and mixing of an EP.

Holly Blackwell

This grant helped support her and her band with their touring logistics, which allowed them to tour as a family with childcare and fitting accommodation.
